We, Lily Zone and Zoë Sparks, have less than two weeks to find housing and are running out of money, so we’re trying to raise funds quickly!
We’re currently in a hotel in Minneapolis-St Paul and are trying to settle here, after spending a month and a half pursuing short- or long-term housing in our former home of Pittsburgh without success. We need to pay the first months’ rent and deposit on a new place, cover applications fees, replace things we had to get rid of during moving, and retrieve our remaining belongings from a storage unit still in Pittsburgh.
We’re offering a cornucopia of unreleased finished works, in-progress projects, and never-before-seen development artifacts, free to anyone just for being kind enough to look at this page
We’ll be uploading these sorts of items and posting about them here throughout the coming days. Watch this space! We’ll share the posts on Bluesky at @sp1nnylights and @townmap as well.
For those of you who don’t know who we are, we’re a couple that develops games and makes other sorts of art and writing and such. Lily adds, “We rule. We’re cool people. We wear fancy jackets and nice hairstyles.”

rennet: a Godot 4 shader that curdles colors

I wrote this shader in February 2024 as part of the freelance work Lily and I did on the game Melting Enclopedia. I originally intended it to mimic phosphorescence and color changing in sea creatures, but after I wrote it I found other uses for it as well.
This is a demo video I made for it, using it on not only the 3D model but also the title cards.
My previously-unreleased Song of Homunculus ending theme, a variation on it I just wrote, and a little analysis of Terranigma‘s “Gift”

Almost no one aside from Lily has ever heard the ending theme I wrote for Song of Homunculus back in 2019. Despite this, Lily often says that it’s one of her favorites of my pieces. “Like one of the great works of Beethoven” she just claimed, “a great work of the soul,” etc., she went on. Now you can come to your own conclusions—here it is released to the public at last:

in February 2025 we had managed to raise enough money to try and move again, after renting a couch in a neighbors’ crowded 1-bedroom apartment since the beginning of November 2024. as we were looking more seriously at moving, i wanted to create a memento which captures the the atmosphere of that apartment- to recreate its particular flavor of bleakness.

EXPOSITION:
in the past 10 years i have continuously told myself, “i really should update my website”- but have always felt unsure what the most practical way to do this is. i’ve had false starts, where the thrust quickly dissipates as more pressing matters come up- faced with months, then years, of cumulutive updates to consider, i’d lose steam and focus on something else.
